Somatic Movement
Somatic movement brings your attention to what you feel while you move. You may notice your breath, balance, tension, ease, or the way different parts of your body move together.
Walking is one example. Your body moves together with each step. The practice is to move slowly enough to notice.
Children may explore this through yoga, walking, play, and simple movement games. They are encouraged to move with curiosity and at their own pace.
In practice
- Gentle movement and yoga
- Simple breathwork
- Playful movement games
- Walking in nature
- Time to pause and rest
What to know
Somatic movement is not medical treatment. Each person may notice something different, and no result is promised.
